  23.             MOREnet is a state network providing  NSFNET  communications
  24.             and services to higher education, primary and secondary edu-
  25.             cation,  laboratories,  and  state  agencies  in   Missouri.
  26.             MOREnet's  primary purpose is to develop, support, maintain,
  27.             and cultivate applications  for  electronic  interchange  in
  28.             support of its members.  The secondary purpose of MOREnet is
  29.             to foster information exchange and activities which  support
  30.             a broader cooperation among it members.  MOREnet obtains its
  31.             connection to the NSFNET through its membership in MIDNET.

  33.             MOREnet is funded by grants from the National Science  Foun-
  34.             dation  and  by  membership  fees.   A  Board  of  Directors
  35.             comprised of representatives from each member has full  pol-
  36.             icy  and  budgetary  authority.   Users  of  the network are
  37.             represented though several advisory committees.

  39.             Currently MOREnet supports  IP  traffic  and  is  developing
  40.             statewide AppleTalk and Novell IPX networks.

  71.             _W_h_o _C_a_n _U_s_e _M_O_R_E_n_e_t

  73.             Any individual or organization needing  internet  access  to
  74.             support  their  education  or  research missions may request
  75.             membership in MOREnet.  Acceptable use of the  network  fol-
  76.             lows  NSF guidelines.  The needs of commercial organizations
  77.             my be reviewed on a case by case basis.
